As the semester comes to a close, like all good things, this blog must end.
I hope you have found the blog interesting and entertaining. NYU is a spectacular university that has lots of celebrity alumni.
Maybe one day your name will be added to the list as well...

The Olsen Twins - Fashionably Educated
The Olsen Twins are enormously wealthy. Forbes estimated that they earned $15 million in 2008. They have been working since they were 9 months old, first sharing the role of Michelle Tanner on the popular sitcom "Full House" from 1987 to 1995 and then as entrepreneurs of their own company.
So no one really knew what they would study in college because they already had a $1 billion retail empire that included their own clothing line and home video business
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen leaned more toward liberal arts than business. As freshmen enrolled in the Gallatin School the 18 year olds devised their own academic programs. In addition to two writing seminars required of all Gallatin freshmen, Mary-Kate signed up for a photography class, and Ashley took Italian had a psychology concentration,
Their spokesman, Michael Pagnotta said ''Their reasons for going to school was not necessarily vocational, it was really about exploring things and subjects that they haven't been able to before.''

Anne Hathaway - All Grown Up
A few weeks ago when I wrote about the Oscars I mentioned that James Franco was an alumni from Tisch. I didn't realize at the time that his co-host also attended NYU.
Anne Hathaway only spent a few semesters studying at Vassar College before she transfered to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She regarded her NYU enrollment as one of her best decisions because she enjoyed being with others who were trying to "Grow Up".
She dropped out of NYU early to star in the Film "The Devil Wears Prada". The success of that film made it unnecessary forher to ever return to school.

Alec Baldwin - Top of the Rock
Alec Baldwin planned to attend law school but auditioned for New York University's Undergraduate Drama Program on a dare. He was accepted, and in 1979 began what would become his professional training.
He has played various roles on television and in films however he is most famous for his current role in the popular NBC television sitcom 30 Rock with co-star Tina Fey. He plays a fast talking, super competitive business executive at GE and his performance is fantastic.
Last year Alec Baldwin received an honorary doctorate from NYU when he gave the commencement adress to over 25,000 people. You can watch that speech in the previous post.
