Jack Dorsey - Tweet This!

Jack Dorsey Speaking at NYU
Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, briefly attended Missouri University but was fascinated with taxicab dispatching so he decided to move to New York, the capital of taxis, and transfered to New York University. At NYU he studied computer science, mathematics, English and the programming behind taxi dispatching.

While he was a student at NYU,  he began to formulate the idea of Twitter, a hybrid of AOL Instant Messenger and dispatching combined. "What if people could communicate short message bursts with each other in real time without any quantity or location limitations?" Dorsey was convinced that people loved to communicate their everyday thoughts and dropped out of college to pursue his dream. Soon there after Dorsey moved to California, and in 2000 started a company that offered his dispatch software through the Web. That was the birth of Twitter.

  1. Wow! I had no idea that the founder of Twitter attended NYU. Out of curiosity, do you know what school he was in? Did graduate or drop out like Lady GaGa?

As a Will and Grace fan, I have a special request for a future post on Debra Messing (if that is possible, I am not sure if she was under the radar during her NYU days). Regardless, I truly enjoyed reading all your posts and cannot wait to read the rest!
